He is a Professor at Food and Agribusiness Management Centre of IIM Lucknow. Prior to joining IIM Lucknow, he was associated with IIM Ahmedabad, NDDB/NTGCF Anand and AIM Guwahati. Having obtained his undergraduate degree in Agriculture from Kanpur University, he went on to pursue his post graduation in Livestock Economics from the renowned institute of IVRI, Bareilly and Ph.D. (Agril Economics) from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. His present research and consultancy interests include, rural development strategic planting process, rural marketing, agribusiness environment management, quality management, agricultural services marketing management, land valuation, and land marketing along with his major research publications in the area of agribusiness rural development, land valuation, land marketing and rural marketing. Dr. Awasthi is also a visitor's nominee for IITs/NITs along with his prestigious membership in International Food and Agribusiness Management Association, World Academy of Humanities And Social Sciences, Indian Society of Agricultural Economics, and Indian society of Ecological Economics.
